This print is a colourful result of one of my "mark-making" practice sessions. I made a bunch of tiny pots with lots of colour and pattern that turned into a lovely grid! Mark-making is a technique used to create texture and rhythm that's super spontaneous and also makes for a fun practice exercise.

Process

The original is a hand-made linocut print. The surface of the linoleum block is carved so that the raised areas can be inked and manually transferred to paper. The cut-away sections remain white. The details are added using a mix of acrylic markers, colored pencils, and pastels.
