When I was in school, I would spend my summers with my grandparents. Every evening, my grandpa would take me out for a walk. Some days, we would come across a balloon seller outside a park. A few of those days, grandpa would buy me a balloon—and I loved balloons.

I’d keep it with me for days till it deflated on its own. Being stuck at home most of the day in the Mumbai heat, I would imagine myself running around in an empty field with fluffy clouds in the distance. Just me and my balloon and the wind in my hair.

This print is in memory of my little red balloon.

Process

This is a relief print hand-made by using the linoleum cut technique. The surface of a linoleum block is carved so that its raised area can be inked and manually transferred to paper. The areas that are cut away remain white. 

Paper

Each artwork is made in a limited edition of hundred pieces. The art is transferred on bespoke cotton paper with archival inks that will last decades. Your print comes uniquely numbered and signed by the artist.
